Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
9to9 is designed to minimize the amount of personal information it handles. Most of what the app stores exists only on your device, and the core blocking work is done by Apple's own system capabilities. This policy explains what 9to9 processes and why.
Information 9to9 processes
To work, 9to9 keeps configuration on your device. This may include:
- the apps, app categories, and websites you select as distractions
- your blocking preferences and quiet-period settings
- quiet-night streaks and lightweight statistics the app shows you
- subscription entitlement status
- app settings such as notifications preferences
Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls APIs are intentionally privacy-preserving. They protect the identity of your selections, so 9to9 does not receive a plain, readable list of every other app on your phone as ordinary identifying information. 9to9 interacts with your selections through Apple's protected mechanisms rather than reading your full app inventory or browsing history directly.
Screen Time
9to9 uses Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls APIs to restrict the apps and websites you have chosen. Access is granted through Apple's system permission flow, which you can review and revoke at any time in iOS Settings.
9to9 does not receive your browsing history, messages, passwords, or the contents of other applications. Screen Time restrictions are applied by iOS based on your selections.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your payment information; 9to9 does not see or store your full payment details.
9to9 may use RevenueCat to help manage subscription entitlements. If RevenueCat is in use, it may receive subscription and purchase-related information (such as receipt data and entitlement status) needed to verify and deliver your subscription. RevenueCat processes this data under its own privacy practices as a service provider.
Analytics
9to9 does not use a third-party analytics platform, and does not send usage analytics, event tracking, or behavioral profiles to an external analytics service. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated to name the provider and describe what is handled.
Notifications
9to9 may request notification permission to send you occasional reminders, such as a notice that a free trial is ending. Notifications are not used for advertising. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
Data sharing
9to9 does not sell your information. The only third parties that may receive limited data are Apple (for purchases, subscriptions, and Screen Time functionality) and, if applicable, RevenueCat (for subscription entitlement management). These providers process data as service providers under their own privacy policies.
Data retention
Your selections, preferences, streaks, and statistics are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you delete the app, reset the app's data, or reset Screen Time authorization. Subscription entitlement status is derived from Apple and, if used, RevenueCat, and is retained only as long as needed to deliver your subscription.
Data deletion
You can remove locally stored app data at any time by deleting 9to9 from your device or by resetting the app's data within 9to9 if that option is available. Removing Screen Time authorization in iOS Settings also stops 9to9 from applying restrictions.
If you have any server-side information associated with your account and would like it deleted, contact us at the email below and we will assist you.
Your choices
- Review or remove Screen Time authorization for 9to9 in iOS Settings → Screen Time.
- Enable or disable notifications in iOS Settings → 9to9.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Delete the app to remove its locally stored data.
Children's privacy
9to9 is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls capabilities are designed with user privacy in mind, and 9to9 does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of 9to9 after a change means you accept the updated policy.
